Powdered Sugar Stenciled Cookies

This is such a fun and easy way to add a little cuteness to a plain chocolate cookie.

I started with a plain chocolate cookie. I used this recipe, but I shaped the balls to about 1.5". Be sure to make plenty of extras, you know, because you want to make sure they taste good might want some for practice. When I took them out of the oven, I used a spatula to flatten the top.

After the cookies had cooled,  I placed a stencil on top of the cookie. I made the stencil with my digital cutter.

I used a sifter to gently sprinkle a light layer of powdered sugar over the stencil.

Carefully, lift the stencil straight off the cookie.

I made a Christmas charger to put them on. 

 So cute and festive. Wouldn't this make a great gift?

 

A little note about the stencil...the thicker the material, the easier it is to pull off the cookie. My stencil was made from vinyl because I can usually get more detail with vinyl vs. cardstock, but cardstock would be easier to lift straight off the cookie.

Christmas Charger

Here is another idea for a holiday charger using vinyl and a digital cutter. I just cut out the vinyl with my digital cutter and applied it to the charger. Such a quick and easy decoration! But, I've actually got other plans to make this a super cute gift.

Angel Air Fresheners

A few weeks ago,  I was at the dollar store and saw some Christmas air fresheners. They were cheap, but not very cute. I figured I could change that. So, here she is...my air freshener angel.

.I started out with this air freshener.

I removed the plastic wrap and glued a fabric strip (about 9" x 1.5") around the bottom.

I cut out a circle about 12" in diameter and glued it to the top. Then, I glued a flesh colored ball on top of the fabric.

For the wings, I wrapped some wire around a paint bottle about eight times and then wrapped the ends around the loops to hold them together.

I shaped them and separated them.

I threaded a piece of ribbon around the middle of wings and tied it around the neck.

I didn't have yarn or doll hair, so I had to get a little creative. I found a silk flower, cut it apart, trimmed some of the petals, and glued it on. For the top layer, I folded and glued on a small flower and then glued the halo below it (the halo is made out of the same wire as the wings).

  I used another small folder flower to cover part of the halo. 

 I painted two eyes and added a little pink for the cheeks and this angel was done!

 Sweet.

 Easy.

 Cute.

Spiced Up Cups with Vinyl

 I made some pumpkin spice cookies to take to some neighborhood friends and wanted something cute to put them in. I found these cups leftover from Halloween . They were a great size, but just too plain.

 So, I cut out some vinyl pumpkins and the words "pumpkin spice and everything nice" and put it on the outside of the cup.

 Then, I put the cookies in a cello bag and tied it with some jute. I added a couple of silk leaves and wrapped the ends of the jute around some mini cinnamon sticks and put the bag inside the cup.

 Done! Quick, easy, and so much cuter.

Easy Pilgrim Napkin Holders (Printable)

 One Thanksgiving (long ago) my mom and sisters and I made the cutest little napkin holders. They were cut out of wood, hand painted and took forever to make! Here is a quick and easy version that is simple enough to make before the big day.

You will need to find some type of "ring" to attach the printable to. I found some wood rings at Michael's, but you could also use PVC pipe, t.p. rolls, or any other small cylinder shape.

 First, print and cutout the pilgrim.

 Place your ring over the center of the body.

 Trace the inside of the ring and cut out the circle.

 Then glue your napkin ring to the back

Easy! Here is the printable, you may need to resize it depending on the diameter of your ring.
