I needed some type of garland to put on top of my seasonal shelf, but I couldn't find anything that I really liked in the stores. So, I searched around for ideas and eventually decided to make a rag garland.
I used 8 fabrics, a couple were St. Patrick's prints, but most were just generic prints in different shades of green.
I cut my strips (with a rotary cutter) about 1.5" x 6" and tied them around some thick string. It took about 10-12 strips per inch.
I was a little worried when I first started. But, by the time I tied on the last strip, I was totally excited about the results. What a cute and simple project that can be customized for any holiday or occasion!
