Freebie Friday - O Christmas Tree

I've been learning how to make my digital cutter files available in different file formats, so I can share them with you! Each Friday, I will post a link for a free file for your digital cutter! The file will usually be from something I have created earlier in the week, so you can see what it looks like cut and have an example of a project you can make. O Christmas Tree

Here is an easy Christmas project to help kick-off the holiday season.

 Here is what you need:

- Board

- Vinyl

- Paint

-Scrapbook Paper

-Glue or Mod Podge

-Sandpaper

- Spray Finish

Here is what you do:

1. Cut your board to the size you want (mine is 11" x 5.5").

2. Paint your board white (or any color that coordinates with your scrapbook paper) and let dry.

3. Cut your scrapbook paper to the size of the board, glue on and let dry

4. Use sandpaper and lightly sand the edges of the of the paper and board.

5. Apply the vinyl tree, starting with the light green, then brown and dark green last.

6. To create the shadow look on the words (see image below), cut them out in two colors and the same size. Apply the dark green first. Then, when applying the light green, position it just a little off from the dark green.

7. Add a few coats of spray finish.

Turkey Favor Tins

The digital cut file for this project is available for purchase through my Etsy shop.

 

This is a project I shared last year, but it's such a cute project for Thanksgiving, I thought I would repost it. When I made these last year, I didn't know how to make files for other digital cutters, but now I do! So later, I will also be sharing the cutter file so you can make your own.

Thanksgiving will be here soon and this is a great little project that is perfect for the big day. I remember when I was little, my mom would always help me make a cute favor to put on the table by each plate. I still enjoy making favors for everyone and here is what I will be making this year-Turkey Favor Tins.

 Here is what you'll need to make them:
Cardstock (I used 8 different colors)

Googly Eyes

Foam Sticky Tabs

Favor Tins (I got mine at Michaels in the wedding section)

Glue

Distress Ink

First, you'll need to cut out all the pieces. I used my digital cutter, but most of the shapes are pretty simple and can be cut by hand (there's a printable template at the bottom).

After everything is cut, distress the edges.

Next, assemble and glue the face and feathers.

 Use the foam tabs to attach a circle to the lid and also the head and feet.

 

Glue the feathers to the back of the tin. Make sure when you stand it up, the edges of the outside feathers touch at the bottom. This keeps your tin from rolling.

 Attach the other circle to the back of the tin over the feathers.

 Fill with some tasty treats

 and put on the lid.

Oh, so cute! Imagine a whole table of these little guys - how fun and festive.
