Spiced Up Cups with Vinyl

 I made some pumpkin spice cookies to take to some neighborhood friends and wanted something cute to put them in. I found these cups leftover from Halloween . They were a great size, but just too plain.

 So, I cut out some vinyl pumpkins and the words "pumpkin spice and everything nice" and put it on the outside of the cup.

 Then, I put the cookies in a cello bag and tied it with some jute. I added a couple of silk leaves and wrapped the ends of the jute around some mini cinnamon sticks and put the bag inside the cup.

 Done! Quick, easy, and so much cuter.

Easy Pilgrim Napkin Holders (Printable)

 One Thanksgiving (long ago) my mom and sisters and I made the cutest little napkin holders. They were cut out of wood, hand painted and took forever to make! Here is a quick and easy version that is simple enough to make before the big day.

You will need to find some type of "ring" to attach the printable to. I found some wood rings at Michael's, but you could also use PVC pipe, t.p. rolls, or any other small cylinder shape.

 First, print and cutout the pilgrim.

 Place your ring over the center of the body.

 Trace the inside of the ring and cut out the circle.

 Then glue your napkin ring to the back

Easy! Here is the printable, you may need to resize it depending on the diameter of your ring.

I was looking for a quote on creativity and found this cute one on Pinterest. I love the quote and the design, but I needed it to go the other way. So, I made this one. I'm actually using it as a stencil, but thought it would make a cute printable as well.

Leaf Placemat Pillow (easy)

I was at Walmart last week and saw these leaf placemats on sale for $2.50/each.

 I was really excited, because I remembered seeing this tutorial last year. Yep, you can easily turn the placemats into super cute fall pillows for cheap. And they are quick and easy to make (like, four pillows in under an hour). I made them today and my kids thought they were so cool. I might just have to go get more for our other couch.

In case you're wondering, I bought a 16 oz. bag of poly-fill and was able to stuff three pillows

Turkey Favor Tins (Tutorial)

Earlier this week, I shared this tutorial at Between U & Me. In case you missed it over there, I'm sharing it here, today!

Thanksgiving will be here soon and this is a great little project that is perfect for the big day. I remember when I was little, my mom would always help me make a cute favor to put on the table by each plate. I still enjoy making favors for everyone and here is what I will be making this year-Turkey Favor Tins.

 Here is what you'll need to make them:
Cardstock (I used 8 different colors)

Googly Eyes

Foam Sticky Tabs

Favor Tins (I got mine at Michaels in the wedding section)

Glue

Distress Ink

First, you'll need to cut out all the pieces. I used my digital cutter, but most of the shapes are pretty simple and can be cut by hand (there's a printable template at the bottom).

After everything is cut, distress the edges.

Next, assemble and glue the face and feathers.

 Use the foam tabs to attach a circle to the lid and also the head and feet.

 

Glue the feathers to the back of the tin. Make sure when you stand it up, the edges of the outside feathers touch at the bottom. This keeps your tin from rolling.

 Attach the other circle to the back of the tin over the feathers.

 Fill with some tasty treats

 and put on the lid.

Oh, so cute! Imagine a whole table of these little guys - how fun and festive.

Vinyl Organization

I love organization. One day, I hope to be really organized, but it's probably not gonna happen anytime soon. Luckily, every once in awhile, I do get some organization inspiration. This is where I used to keep my vinyl.

 But most of the time, it looked like this (actually, it was usually much worse than this).

We used to store our toys in these large cabinets from Ikea. But, when we redid our playroom, we moved our toys to these, which I absolutely love.

 

So, the big cabinets were empty. And, the thought occurred to me, I should use them for vinyl. I was so excited to find they were a perfect fit. The rolls of vinyl are almost the exact depth of the cabinet.

And what better way to complete my vinyl organization than with vinyl labels.

 Now, I know exactly where each roll goes and it's easy to see which colors I am out of. Don't you just love when you find the perfect storage solution?

Monogrammed Mirror (with vinyl)

I bought this great set of mirrors because the largest one was the perfect size for an empty space at the bottom of the stairs. The smaller two were just a bonus. I painted it brown and hung it up. The size was great, but I thought it looked a little plain.

 So, I turned to my vinyl to spruce things up.

 Yep, just what it needed.

A Creative Thank You

Since November is a month of showing gratitude, I thought this would be a great project to share. Back in September, my in-laws took our family on an incredible vacation. We wanted to do something special with our kids to say thank you. We decided to make a picture with the kids holding up letters that spelled out THANKS.

I thought I'd learn some new skills in Photoshop, so I decided to digitally add the letters. I also could have cut them out of foam board, poster board, or cardboard.

I took a picture of each of the kids holding some wood blocks. I originally tried to take a picture with all 6 kids at once, but that just did not work! I couldn't get them all to hold still and look at the camera and smile. It was so much easier to keep their attention and get a good picture when I did one at a time.

I used Photoshop and added each letter. I erased part of the letter so the fingers would show.

Then, I erased most of the background

and pasted them into the big picture.

These pictures are so fun and since you can spell anything are great for any holiday or occasion! Joy, noel, peace are great words for Christmas and love, hugs, kiss(es) would be cute for Valentine's day.
